Graeme Watson - Manager, Investigations

Background - Graeme is an experienced investigator with over 42 years’ experience in investigations, management, and consultation. Throughout his career, Graeme has gained extensive experience in Financial Crime Management, Investigations and Analysis, often using his skills to develop and implement fraud and corruption programmes. His experience has also given him a detailed knowledge and understanding of compliance, risk, and business continuity management.

Graeme has shared his knowledge as a lecturer, most recently for three years at Charles Sturt University - the Australian Graduate School of Policing, as Lecturer and subject co-ordinator in Investigations, Forensic Accounting, and Fraud Studies.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (2012 - 2015)

Executive Manager, Group Security, Compliance

Graeme conducted reviews of AML/CTF and Sanctions programs, as well as executive and personnel security programs. He also conducted extensive audits and reviews of anti-fraud and anti-corruption frameworks within the bank’s subsidiaries and joint ventures in China, Vietnam, Indonesia and India.

PT Bank Commonwealth (2010 - 2012)

Regional Head of Protective Security, Financial Crime, and Business Continuity

Graeme was responsible for 250 security staff and conducted financial crime investigations and forensic audits of suspicious accounts and transactions. He wrote and published the bank’s policies and procedures in relation to protective security, financial crime, business continuity, and related matters.

NSW Railcorp (2007 - 2009)

Project Manager, Major Security Infrastructure Upgrades

Graeme was responsible for large scale security projects including contract management and infrastructure construction. He developed business cases, scopes, and plans, and was responsible for budgets and project timelines.
