Chris Leeds - Manager, Probity
Public sector – Chris brings over 30 years’ experience in both the Commonwealth and NSW public sectors. Most recently, before joining Procure Group, Chris was a Director in the NSW Police Force, responsible for providing corporate advice to the Commissioner and the Police Executive team on ethical standards issues affecting policing. His responsibilities included improving the quality of police complaints handling, conducting strategic research into trends in policing, investigating historical complaints subject to civil litigation for risk, and managing relations with the police oversight agencies.
Establishing integrity processes – Chris implemented a new principles based code of conduct and ethics and introduced a changed approach to police corruption prevention, introducing expert consulting to police commands to help commanders identify local integrity risks and work directly with high risk groups, such as probationers to minimise misconduct risks. This innovation has now become an accredited training program.
ICAC experience – Chris has also worked for six years as a Senior Corruption Prevention Officer at the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption where he was responsible for providing significant probity advice to Government Ministers, Departments and agencies on major public sector infrastructure projects and on corruption prevention and risk management strategies.
